Villar Greets Muslims on Eid Al Fitr

Nacionalista Party President Senator extends his greetings to the Muslim during the celebrations for Eid Al Fitr or the Festival of Fast-Breaking, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

"I would to greet our Muslim brothers and sisters here and abroad as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr. After the sacrifices and prayers offered during Ramadan, now is the time to be joyous and festive. As Muslims worldwide break their fast, may the prayers for lasting peace continue," said Villar.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims observe a strict fast throughout daytime, meditate in prayers and participate in pious activities such giving to charities. During Eid Al Fitr, Muslims observe a three-day celebration to break their fast.

"Amidst the festivities, may we continue to offer prayers for peace and progress in the country, particularly for the end of armed conflict in Mindanao . It would really be ideal if the ceasefire observed during Ramadan would last permanently," said the former Senate president. An estimated 1.6 billion Muslims around the globe, including 10 million Filipino Muslims in the country, celebrate Eid Al Fitr annually.
