"2010 NO LONGER A BATTLE OF ADMIN VS OPPOSITION, BUT A BATTLE BETWEEN 'CHANGE OR THE OLD BANKRUPT WAYS'" - KIKO PANGILINAN

For Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, the 2010 presidential election is no longer a battle for supremacy between the administration and the opposition. Rather, it is a battle between "change or the old bankrupt ways."

As he welcomed Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo's pronouncement of support for the presidential bid of Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, Pangilinan also exhorted all public servants to join the growing constituency for reform.

"We welcome the support of Sec. Romulo. Although he is with the administration we know him to be a decent public servant with integrity. We call on all decent public servants, whether identified with the administration or the opposition, to join our efforts behind real change for the nation," he said.

"The door is open to all who sincerely want change: we invite all of them to join our people's coalition for change. I am certain there are many more amongst the ranks of both the administration and the opposition who are sincere in seeking real change and reforms in our politics and governance."

He added: "2010 is no longer about the administration nor the opposition. Both the admin and opposition will be rendered irrelevant when the clamor is now to reject the old, bankrupt ways of both the administration and opposition and to embrace genuine change and reforms."
