LIBERAL PARTY SECURES METRO MANILA BIG 3
ROXAS: FORCES FOR CHANGE DOMINANT IN METRO MANILA

Liberal Party President Senator Mar Roxas today declared that the forces for change and true reform are dominant in Metro Manila.

Roxas is elated by the fact that the local leaders of the three biggest cities in Metro Manila-Quezon City, Manila and Caloocan-have pledged their support to the Liberal Party and its Aquino-Roxas presidential tandem.

"Tuwang-tuwa ako't sinusuportahan tayo ng mga pinuno ng tatlong pinakamalalaking siyudad sa Metro Manila. Hindi lang sa Kamaynilaan kundi sa buong bansa, namamayagpag ang puwersa para sa pagbabago (I'm very happy that we have received the support of the leaders of the three biggest cities in Metro Manila. The forces for change are indeed dominant not only here but in the whole country)," Roxas, vice-presidential bet of the party, said.

"Hindi lamang po tungkol kay Noynoy o sa akin ang labang ito. Tungkol po ito sa pinagtipon nating uhaw para sa pagbabago, para wakasan ang tayo-tayo system, ang kasakiman, ang tradisyunal at transaksyunal na pulitika sa ating bansa (This is not just about Noynoy or me. This is about our collective thirst for change, our desire to end the tayo-tayo system, the greed, the traditional and transactional politics in our country)," Roxas added.

In Quezon City, which has more than one million voters, Quezon City Mayor Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte, Vice Mayor Herbert "Bistek" Bautista and Joy Belmonte swore-in as new Liberals today. Bautista and Ms. Belmonte will be running for mayor and vice-mayor, respectively, while Mr. Belmonte will run for Congress.

In Caloocan City, which has more than 580,000 voters, Caloocan City Mayor Enrico "Recom" Echiverri swore before the LP banner. Earlier in Manila which has almost a million voters, Manila Mayor Fred Lim's Laban-KKK party entered into a coalition with the Liberal Party.
