Villar to File CoC on November 30
Proclamation rally to be held in Tondo a day before filing of candidacy

Its all systems go for the filing of Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) of Nacionalista Party President Senator Manny Villar on November 30 (Monday). A day before the CoC filing, Villar and other Nacionalistas will hold its proclamation rally to present their complete line-up of candidates for the upcoming 2010 national elections.

"Tuloy na tuloy na tayo. The commemoration of Bonifacio Day is a fitting date to file for my candidacy and seal my utmost intention to serve the country and make a difference in the lives of my fellow Filipinos like Andres Bonifacio. November 30 would have a deeper significance to me," said Villar.

"Habang ako ay nag-aaral sa Mababang Paaralan ng Isabelo de los Reyes na malapit sa Tutuban, naging inspirasyon ko na si Gat. Andres Bonifacio. Hanga ako sa kanyang sipag at tiyaga na nagsilbing gabay ko sa buhay. Sa kabila ng kahirapan, hindi nagpabaya ang ating dakilang bayani sa pagpapalawak at paghubog ng kanyang angking talino," noted Villar in his speech during a previous celebration of Bonifacio Day.

Villar and his family as well as supporters and fellow Nacionalistas including running mate Senator Loren Legarda will hear mass at Manila Cathedral before filing his CoC in Comelec. The mass will be officiated by Paranaque Bishop Jessee Mercado.

Meanwhile, on Sunday (November 29), the Nacionalista Party will hold a proclamation rally at the monument of Macario Sakay at Plaza Morga in Moriones, Tondo--near the house where Villar used to live when his mother was still selling shrimps at nearby Divisoria Market. Bonifacio was also born in Tondo.

Nacionalista Party, the older political party in the Philippines, has been swamped with interests and requests to join from other politicians and public officials. Last week alone, thousands have been sworn in as members.

"We are happy that many are joining the Nacionalista Party. We have always believed in multiplication and joining forces rather than division and disarray. We thank those who believe and support our platform and advocacies. Nacionalista is built on love of county and service to Filipinos--'Bayan Higit sa Lahat'," said Villar.
