LDP ENDORSES TEN SENATORIAL BETS

The Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) led by its Chairman, Senator Edgardo J. Angara, unveiled its senatorial picks for 2010 during yesterday's luncheon meeting with the party's leaders, members and coordinators at the Manila Golf Club.

The party is endorsing Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, Senator Pia Cayetano, Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, Senator Franklin Drilon, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Senator Ralph Recto, Senator Ramon Revilla Jr., Senator Lito Lapid and Secretary Silvestre Bello.

"Our party is proud to endorse these candidates who have proven their commitment to public service and who have solid track records in legislation and governance," said Angara.

Incumbent LDP governors in attendance included Governor Sally Perez of Antique, Gov. Sally Lee of Sorsogon, Gov. Bellaflor Angara Castillo of Aurora, Gov. Floydelia Diasen of Kalinga, Gov. Teresita Lazaro of Laguna, Gov. Josephine Sato of Occidental Mindoro, Gov. Erico Aumentado of Bohol, Gov. Miguel Dominguez of Sarangani, Gov. Ben Evardone of Eastern Samar, and Gov. Daisy Fuentes of South Cotabato.

Congressman Anne Hofer of Zamboanga Sibugay, Cong. Juan Edgardo Angara of Aurora, Cong. Mark Enverga of Quezon, Cong. Marci Teodoro of Marikina, Cong. Annie Susano of Quezon City 2nd Dist, Cong. Nanette Daza of Quezon City 4th Dist, and Cong. Egay San Luis of Laguna 4th Dist. also showed support to the senatorial candidates.

LDP Board Members, Mayors and regional coordinators from all over the country were also present in the meeting and gave their support to the ten senatoriables.
