Villar also dominates social networking sites
Number one in Friendster; Breached half-a-million mark in Facebook

Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Sen. Manny Villar is becoming just as popular in social networking sites as in election surveys. Villar's Facebook page has breached the half-a-million mark, and on Friendster, he has the most number of fans among presidential aspirants.

This week, Villar's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/mannyvillar has breached the half-a-million mark. As of noon of Feb. 5, it has attracted 520,276 fans. Liberal Party presidential bet Sen. Noynoy Aquino has 557,636 Facebook fans during the same period.

"Palago talaga ng palago ang ating mga supporters sa mga social networking sites na tinuturing nating importante rin dahil dito natin naaabot ang marami rin sa ating mga kababayan, lalo na ang mga kabataan," said Villar.

In Friendster, however, Villar is way ahead of Aquino. As of Feb. 5, Villar has 15,901 fans vis-à-vis Aquino's 1,547 fans.

As with the recent surveys that showed Villar's lead as improving significantly, once again the camps of other presidential aspirants cannot seem to accept in good faith Villar's popularity in social networking sites.
