SAYS NO TO HERO'S BURIAL FOR MARCOS
AQUINO LOOKING FORWARD TO EDSA ANNIVERSARY: LIBERAL PARTY READIES YELLOW ARMY MARCH

Liberal Party standard bearer Noynoy Aquino yesterday said he was looking forward to the 24th year celebration of the EDSA People Power revolution on Thursday even as the Liberal Party unveiled preparations for a "Yellow Army" march on that day.

Speaking to reporters after a forum on human rights in Makati City, Aquino said EDSA was a defining moment in the country's history where Filipinos cast off the darkness caused by 14 years of dictatorial rule.

"Ang ibang bumabatikos sa EDSA tinutulungan kaming linawin kung ano ang ipinaglalaban natin," he said.

Aquino also opposed calls by the NP's Manny Villar and Lakas bet Gilbert Teodoro to allow the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

"Ano ang masasabi nating katangi-tanging nagawa niya (Marcos) na dapat ilibing siya sa Libingan ng mga Bayani," asked the 50-year old senator from Tarlac, whose father Ninoy was jailed when Marcos imposed martial law in 1972.

"Napakarami nating problema ngayon na nakaugat sa panahong 'yon," Aquino pointed out.

In a press conference, the Liberal Party announced the holding of a program at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City to mark the 24th anniversary of EDSA people power on Thursday.

The event will have the theme "People Power is Equal to Vote Power, learning from the past, fighting for the future," according to LP spokesperson Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

The gates of the 18,000-seat Coliseum will open at 1 p.m. for the program, which will run from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday. LED and video screens will be set up outside so the crowd who cannot be accommodated inside the coliseum can see the proceedings.

The program will include songs and campaign slogans for Aquino's "Yellow Army." Performers such as Ogie Alcasid, Sponge Cola, Brownman Revival, Christian Bautista and Eric Santos will perform for free among others, organizers said.

"Sen. Aquino will be there to give marching orders to the "Yellow Army" with (vice presidential bet) Sen. (Manuel II) Roxas and other candidates," Pangilinan said.

Aquino will join the crowd outside Araneta Coliseum for a fireworks display to end the call to arms of the "Yellow Army."
