He is the ounce of prevention and the pound of cure:
Alliance of health care providers endorses Gordon

The biggest association of health care providers in the Philippines endorsed Bagumbayan Party's Richard Gordon, whom the group said will heal the country's illnesses.

In a text message, Dr. Bu Castro, president of the Alliance of All Health Organizations of the Nation (AAHON), called on all health care providers across the country to support Gordon's candidacy.

"The biggest association of health care providers, the Alliance of All Health Organizations of the Nation (AAHON) endorses Bagumbayan Party's Richard Gordon. I ask all health care providers to go for Dick Gordon," Castro's text message read.

"His platform bridges the gap between the health care provider and the health beneficiary. His health formula certainly would heal the ills of the nation, and he will certainly bring the country back to good health. He is the ounce of prevention, the pound of cure to the diseases of our nation," he added.

Gordon spoke before members of the different organizations under the umbrella organization of health care providers in a forum held at the Philippine Medical Association compound in Quezon City.

After giving a speech where he presented his platform and his intention to make health and education the top priorities of his administration, Gordon answered question coming from the representatives of each of the organizations of health care providers that attended the forum.

The Bagumbayan Party standard-bearer bared his plan to raise the salary of government doctors to P50,000 to ensure that more doctors will work for the government so Filipinos, even those living in far-flung areas in the country, will get proper medical attention.

Gordon assured health care providers that he will ensure the upgrading of barangay health centers and government hospitals as well as their salaries. He will raise the starting salary for nurses to at least P25,000 and for barangay health workers from P500 to P3,000 per month.

"Itataas natin ang sweldo ng mga doktor at iba pang health care providers para hindi na kailangang ang mga doctors and nurses natin dito ay magpunta sa ibang bansa para magtrabaho," he said.

"Makikinabang din ang mga tao dahil masisigurong may doktor sa ating mga paaralan at sa mga health centers kaya wala nang Filipinong mamamatay nang hindi man lang nasuri ng doktor," he added.
