Zubiri congratulates INC on 96th Founding Anniversary

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri today congratulated the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on the occasion of its 96thfounding anniversary.

Zubiri said he is confident that the teachings of the Iglesia Ni Cristo will continue to spread around the globe with the leadership of Ka Eduardo Manalo, executive minister and son of the late executive minister Erano "Ka Erdie" Manalo who passed away August last year due to illness.

"Iglesia Ni Cristo has not only become an integral part of the religious history of the Philippines, but has also become a pillar in the spiritual growth of the Filipinos and the citizens around the world," he said.

Zubiri through Senate Resolution No. 8 also recognized the genuine concern the INC ministry has shown for the welfare and good of its people by teaching its members to become responsible and productive members of society.

He said the triumph of evangelization of the Iglesia Ni Cristo has remained faithful to the vision and ideals of Ka Felix Manalo, who founded the religious group in 1914 with the ultimate vision of spreading the Good News of the Lord in the Philippines and the rest of the world.

He likewise exhorted the leadership of Ka Eduardo Manalo because despite the demise of Ka Erdie, INC continues to show its fortitude and steadfastness in spreading the Good News.

Zubiri is a co-author of Republic Act No. 9645 or "An Act Declaring July 27 of every year as a Special National Working Holiday" as a fitting recognition to the indispensable role and invaluable contributions of the Iglesia Ni Cristo to the nation.
