Senate Opens Probe On: Dwindling Water Supply,
Senator Loren Legarda, Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Climate Change today announced that there will be a joint legislative inquiry tomorrow, August 17, 2010 , 12:30pm at the Senate's Laurel Room of the Senate Committees on Climate Change, Finance and Public Works to delve into the following: 1. All sources of financing of climate change funds to ensure transparency and accountability in the proper utilization and management thereof ( P. S. Resolution No. 10 authored by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and P.S. Resolution No. 44 authored by Sen Loren Legarda) 2. Threat of dwindling water supply ( P. S. Resolution no. 43 authored by Sen Loren Legarda) 3. Status of Climate Change negotiations 4. "State of the Climate " privilege speech delivered by Sen Legarda at the Senate Floor on August 10, 2010 where she called for the synchronized implementation of the following laws - Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Climate Change Act of 2009 and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010; Among those invited to attend are the following: 1.
