Pia supports amnesty for 'Morong 43'

"I have always been of the belief that the arrest of the 'Morong 43' was attended with irregularities and I am heartened to hear that President Aquino is reviewing this case and is open to granting amnesty."

"Jurisprudence tells us that amnesty can be granted for political offenses and thus would apply to the members of the Morong 43 who are being detained and tried for a political crime, on the military's allegation that they were committing rebellion when they were rounded up eight months ago."
