BONG REVILLA SETS BLOOD LETTING ACTIVITY IN QC

Hundreds of government troops, law enforcers, firemen as well as public employees, celebrities and athletes will troop to Quezon City to join in the blood donation program organized by Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr.

Those who will donate their blood are members of the Philippine Army (PA), Philippine Navy (PN), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

With the theme "Dugong Alay, Pandugtong ng Buhay," the activity which will be held on Thursday (September 22) at the Quezon City Hall Grounds from 8 am to 4 pm is part of the humanitarian activities in celebration of the lawmaker's forty-fifth birthday on September 25. This is in partnership with Mayor Herbert Bautista, Lions Club International Region 6 District 301-D2 and the Purposeful Stewardship Institute (PSI) Philippines.

Assisting medical teams will come from AFP Medical Center, The Medical City, Philippine Children's Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, East Avenue Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines and Philippine Red Cross.

According to Bong Revilla, he initiates blood donation project every year as a way of helping the needy. "Blood is needed during emergency cases, calamities and disasters. Donating blood indeed saves lives," he said.

Aside from the government forces, among those who also volunteered to donate blood are employees of the Commission on Audit (CoA), House of Representatives (HoR), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), National Housing Authority (NHA) at Land Registration Authority (LRA). Members of the Federation of Fil-Chinese Fire Prevention and Civic Welfare Association (FFCFPCWA), Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (MOWELFUND), Kapisanan ng mga Artista sa Pelikulang Pilipino at Telebisyon (KAPPT), Motorcycle Philippines Federation (MCPF), Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity (APO), Philippine Canoe-Kayak Federation and Dragonboat and the Philippine Rugby Football Union (Philippine Volcanoes) will also participate.

The blood letting activity is sponsored by Goldilocks, Mang Inasal, Crystal Clear Purified Water, Zest-O Corporation, Sovit-CEE, San Miguel Corporation, Kopi-Roti, Tamayo's Catering, Cebuana Native Lechon and AMA Computer College.
