On former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's House Arrest

Q: Sir, 'yung sa house arrest po kay GMA na ina-appeal ng kaniyang mga lawyers?

SP: Alam mo, 'yung kaso ni Gloria, ipaubaya natin sa Husgado 'yun. Sila ang magde-decide niyan. Ano man ang sasabihin namin, opinyon lang 'yun and we should not try to influence the minds of the judges. Also, I do not want to speak about pending cases.

Q: Consideration ba dapat, sir, 'yung pagiging dating presidente?

SP: Alam mo, di ako sasagot diyan dahil it will affect the position of the judges. Leave it to the judge to exercise judicial discretion. It's better that way. Sa America, alam mo, ang mga jury super strict sila. They are confined in a room. They cannot read papers. They cannot be interviewed. They cannot hear any radio or watch television because they should not be influenced. Dito sa atin, they are very open. Mahirap 'yun. Either way, it could affect the mind of the judge.

SP: As much as possible we should refrain.
