Transcript of Ambush Interview of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile

On the Impeachment Trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona

In the same way na pinayagan din ngayon ang defense.

We cannot deny. In the same way that even members of Congress, if they want to come here voluntarily to testify, we cannot deny them access to the impeachment court.

SP: Ako, wala akong transportation allowance.

SP: I don't know. Nasa batas 'yun.

The impeachment court has no jurisdiction over him.

Q: Sir, what happens to the motion to cite him for contempt?

SP: Then, we will deny it because we have no authority to hold in contempt. We are not a super court. We are an impeachment court to perform a special job. We are exercising special jurisdiction.
