Koko welcomes endorsement, vows to pursue Robredo's vision

Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III thanked the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership for its endorsement of his senatorial candidacy in the May 2013 elections. Kaya Natin endorsed the re-electionist senator from Mindanao together with other Team PNoy candidates Bam Aquino, Risa Hontiveros and Jun Magsaysay citing their "commonality with the values and leadership qualities demonstrated by one of its co-founders, the late Jesse Robredo."

"I am thankful for the support given by the Kaya Natin! Movement. I am also deeply humbled by the enormous task of living up to the ideals of Secretary Jesse," Pimentel said in a statement released to media.

Pimentel said that Robredo has become a beacon of good governance for public officials. "I assure you that I remain committed to the principles of Secretary Jesse. I value transparency and honesty in government that is why I fight against those who cheat and oppress our people."

Pimentel added that he will continue Robredo's vision for more empowerment to local government units. "I will re-file my 'bigger pie, bigger slice' bill if I am re-elected. This would give local governments more resources."

The candidacy of Senator Pimentel has also been endorsed by the Centrist Democratic Party and the Makabayan Coalition.

Pimentel recounted that the words of Secretary Robredo that is etched in his memory was when he said "hindi sapat na tayo ay matino lamang; hindi sapat na tayo ay mahusay lamang; dapat matino at mahusay."
