SEN. MARCOS DISCUSSES SUBSTITUTE BILL ON BANGSAMORO
 WITH SAN SEBASTIAN COLLEGE-RECOLETOS STUDENTS

The youth will be joining discussions on the substitute Bangsamoro bill crafted by Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr.

Marcos, sponsor of Senate Bill 2894 shortly titled, "Basic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao," will discuss the measure tomorrow, August 19, before students of San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Manila.

Marcos, chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government, will talk about the salient features of SB 2894 in a seminar entitled, "On Bangsamoro Basic Law," sponsored by the Political Science Society, in coordination with the Supreme Government and the Alliance of Student Organizations of San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Manila.

The substitute bill is now in the period of interpellation in the Senate. Fourteen senators signified their intention to raise questions.

"The Society recognizes the importance for every student of today to have a better understanding of the issue that does not only affect our brothers and sisters in Muslim Mindanao, but also the whole country," Nariv R. Vicario, president of the Political Science Society, said.

Student organizations from others schools within the University Belt area will also attend the seminar.

After his talk, Marcos will answer questions from the students in an open forum.

Marcos has been encouraging the youth to study, understand, and make a stand on important issues affecting the whole country.

"It is very important that our youth is updated on the issues affecting our lives. The youth of today will be the future leaders of this country, so they should receive training and learn about issues now," he said.
