Sen. Marcos thanks PNoy for his concern over his hair

Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. today thanked President Aquino for worrying over his hair despite the many problems of the country.

"Biruin mo sa dami ng trabaho nya napapansin pa nya yung hairdo ko. Thank you Mr. President for your concern," he added.

The senator made statement when asked by reporters covering his sortie in Pangasinan for his reaction on President Aquino's comment about his hair.

Speaking in the United States, the President said he could take that a candidate who upon introducing himself to the people is not showing his true self, which reports said was an obvious dig against Sen. Marcos.

Acknowledging his thinning hair, the President said he would not go to the trouble of having it photoshoped and would rather stay real.

Marcos, for his part, admitted that he is having his hair dyed periodically.

"Naku talaga. Kasi kung hindi ko ipapatina papagalitan ako ng lahat ng babae sa buhay ko: yung asawa ko, yung nanay ko, auntie ko, lahat ng pinsan ko . Sabi nila nagmumukha kang matanda," Marcos said.

He said he apparently got the trait from his mother side, the Romualdezes, whose members are prone to having grey hair even at an early age, compared to others.

Marcos said he is surprised that despite the President's busy schedule the latter finds time to notice his hairdo.

"Buti naman napapansin ni Presidente pati ang buhok ko, pati hairdo ko ay inaalala nya," Marcos said.

Unfortunately, Marcos he is not interested in observing other people's hair.

"Ako di ko napapansin yung hairdo nya, kaya nagugulat ako yung hairdo ko napapansin ng Presidente," he said.

Marcos went back to Pangasinan as guest speaker in the gathering of the province's barangay health workers, who were among the intended beneficiaries of his Barangay Retirement Benefits Bill.

The proposed law has been approved by the Senate on third and final reading and is pending approval in the Lower House.

Marcos hopes to get the solid support of Pangasinenses who comprise a crucial component of his bailiwick known as the "Solid North", which he said would serve as an example and springboard of his vision for national unity.
