BONGBONG MARCOS TO VOTERS: LET'S GUARD OUR VOTES

Consistent with his call for national unity, Vice Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos, Jr. today urged all voters as well as poll watchers from opposing political camps, to actively join in the effort to ensure a clean, honest and credible elections on May 9.

In a radio interview Marcos said his camp is alarmed over the alleged discrepancies in the votes cast in the ballots as against the results indicated in the printed receipt during the Overseas Absentee Voting, with reports coming in from Hong Kong, Japan, Dubai and California.

Moreover, Marcos noted that based on such reports it seems only he and his cousin, Senatorial candidate Martin Romualdez were losing votes in the OAV.

Marcos earlier said his legal team is collating these reports and helping complaining OFWs to prepare their affidavits in order to file a formal complaint before the Commission on Elections.

"Kaya naman nanawagan po ako sa lahat, hindi lamang sa mga supporters ko kundi sa lahat ng mga supporters ng lahat ng kandidato, na talagang magbantay tayo ng mabuti para hindi magkaroon ng problema at maging mapayapa, maayos at kapani-paniwala yung magiging resulta ng ating botohan," said Marcos.

For voters, Marcos said they should carefully inspect the printed receipts of their votes to determine if there is any discrepancy in their votes and the results in the receipt.

"Kung walang problema, di maayos. Pero kung may problema ireklamo ninyo, magsumbong kayo dun sa watchers, magsumbong kayo dun sa BEI (Board of Election Inspectors) para maimbistigahan kaagad," said Marcos.

As for his watchers, Marcos said they should request from the BEI a copy of the election results (ER) once voting in the precinct is over.

"Kung hindi kayo makakuha ng kopya ng election results, piktyuran ninyo yung election results--lahat naman tayo me camera na sa cellphone," Marcos recommended.

Marcos explained that the ER is supposed to be posted in the precinct after the voting and should be available for public viewing so taking a picture of the ER is not prohibited.

Marcos said the pictures can be compared with the results in the precinct and the results reported to the Commission on Elections to ensure that there will not be any discrepancies.

If there are problems noticed in the ERs, Marcos said voters or watchers may please report this to his Headquarters so his legal team, who will be ready, can provide assistance.

"Ako po'y nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng inyong ipinahayag na suporta. Tayo'y nandito na at malapit na ang halalan; bantayan po natin ng mabuti ang ating mga boto ng sa ganun ang boses ng tao ay maririnig sa halalang ito," Marcos said.

In all his campaign sorties Marcos has been spreading his call for national unity, "This is the only way our nation can effectively address the problems besetting our country, enabling us to move forward to a better, more progressive future for every Filipino.
