"Move on?"
HONTIVEROS TO MARCOS JR: STOP ACTING CLUELESS, RETURN LOOT AND ATONE FOR CRIMES

Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros today called out defeated vice presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for saying that she understands her sister, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos' "move on" comment.

In a a forum in Quezon City, Marcos said that the issue is something that happened 30 years ago. "The government fell, kinasuhan kami. It's done. Ano pa ang gusto n'yong gawin?" he said.

"Anong gusto pa naming gawin ninyo? Simple. Marcos Jr. should stop acting clueless. Return all their ill-gotten wealth to the people, apologize to the nation for the atrocities committed during the Marcos dictatorship, then we'll all move on," Hontiveros said.

"Moving on from the dark years of Martial Law demands justice and genuine atonement. If the Marcoses cannot satisfy these basic ethical demands of humanity, they deserve to be haunted forever by the history of our dead and their debts to the Philippine economy," Hontiveros stressed.

Last August 21, the Ilocos Norte Governor told their critics to move on from Martial Law. "The millennials have moved on, and I think people at my age should also move on as well," she said.
