Senate commends Young's Town manufacturer for
winning food, beverage award in Spain

The Senate adopted a resolution today commending the Maunlad Canning Corporation, the manufacturer of Young's Town sardines, for winning the international Food and Beverage Quality award in Madrid, Spain.

Adopted was Senate Resolution 296, authored by Senator Maria Lourdes Nancy Binay.

According to the resolution, Maunlad Canning Corporation was the only Philippine company selected to receive this year's International Food and Beverage Quality award given by Global Trade Leaders' Club.

The Club is an association of leading businesses which aims to promote trade exchanges and human relationships among businessmen from all over the world. The association, with more than 7,500 members from 95 different countries, gathers yearly with the idea that their mutual knowledge and exchange of experiences will lead to new business opportunities.

"This remarkable performance of Maunlad Canning Corporation's product Young's Town sardines is an inspiration to Filipinos all over the world and deserves our commendation," Binay said.

The resolution said Young's Town sardines has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2005 National Product Quality Excellence Awards, 2012-2013 National Product Quality Excellence Awards, 2014 Best Choice Awards, 2015 Philippine Top Choice Awards for Excellence, 2016 International Food & Beverage Quality Award and the 2017 International Food and Beverage Quality Award.
