Mr. Chairman, distinguished colleagues, your Committee on Foreign Affairs conducted a public hearing this morning to deliberate on the nominations of five Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

After deliberating on the qualifications and fitness of the said nominees during the public hearing, the Committee has determined that they are fit and qualified to be in the posts where they are being nominated, and therefore ruled to recommend that their nominations be approved by the body

Having said that Mr. President, due to the lack of material time, your chairman would like to offer his apologies to the five nominees, despite the many wonderful beautiful things that can be attributed to each and every one of them.

It is therefore my honor and privilege to recommend that the Commission confirm the nominations of the following:

1. MR. NOEL EUGENE EUSEBIO MEJICA SERVIGON, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Philippines to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

2. MA. TERESITA CRUZ DAZA, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Chile with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Ecuador and the Republic of Peru.

3. MR. CHRISTOPHER BALTAZAR MONTERO, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam.

I so move, Mr. Chairman.

4. MR. RAMON SEVILLA BAGATSING, JR. as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of India, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Federal Republic of Nepal.

5. MR. NOE ALBANO WONG, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea.
