Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros renews call to review concession agreements between the government and private water companies

We need to scrutinize concession agreements entered into by our government with private water companies. At the same time, I believe it is high time to review the government's overall privatization policy on public utilities, such as water.

Hindi maitatama ng oligarkiya ang problemang dulot ng isa pang oligarkiya. Our solutions should not rest on the shoulders of passing our public utilities to another oligarchy, especially if it compromises rights of indigenous people, the environment, and our national security.
