Philippine Red Cross Water Search and Rescue Team is seen here performing an ongoing response operations at Tierra Verde Subdivision, Pallocan West, Batangas City.

"The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), through our chapters, is already extending its services to communities devastated by Typhoon Jolina. Now that Typhoon Kiko entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), we also notified nearby chapters to be ready to support severely affected provinces," said PRC Chairman and CEO, Sen. Dick Gordon.

Yesterday, PRC chapters from affected areas in the Eastern and Central Visayas, Bicol Region, and Southern Luzon were already on standby for dispatch while some have already started with the delivery of much needed PRC services.

The PRC Masbate Chapter assisted during the preemptive evacuations in Brgy. Usab as residents were stranded due to knee-high flooding, and sometimes as high as waist-level. The chapter was also able to distribute hot meals to 541 people and provided 493 individuals with face masks.

Meanwhile, the PRC chapter in Negros Occidental distributed food and non-food items to a total of 286 affected individuals.
