Dela Rosa condoles with Fesway's family, urges law enforcers to solve cases on missing persons

?SENATOR Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa has shown his heart as a loving father and affirmed, once again, his toughness against criminality as he sympathized with the mother of a missing agent of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and called for swift justice to be served.

During last Tuesday's hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, Dela Rosa condoled with Teresita Tejano Fesway and Lycille Namuro Caluza, mother and common-law wife, respectively, of missing PDEA agent Merton Fesway, who was allegedly abducted by unknown suspects outside the PDEA Office in Angeles City on June 25, 2021, and nowhere to be found until now.

"Alam n'yo, I can feel the pain. Kami rin ay parents. Ako rin ay may anak na nasa serbisyo. Alam ko 'yon. Ako rin, may anak na nasa serbisyo. May anak akong isang tinyente na bagong graduate ng PNPA (Philippine Naional Police Academy). I can't just imagine kung may mangyari sa anak ko. Hindi ko matanggap-tanggap talaga 'yan. Kaya I can feel your pain, ma'am. I can feel your pain. I am one with you in condoning this criminal act," he told Fesway's mother who attended the hearing virtually.

Dela Rosa then asked the PDEA, National ?Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Region III to exert more efforts to solve the case of Fesway.

PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva, who testified virtually, said that while they have not yet established the reason behind Fesway's disappearance, he said that based on their investigation, it would appear that the case was drug-related, a statement being contradicted by Fesway's family.

"Again, I would like to remind all the law enforcement agencies na nandito ngayon. From PDEA to PNP, CIDG to NBI na dapat talaga, justice must be served as far as this case is concerned and all the other cases of missing persons. Hindi natin maramdaman 'yan unless tayo ang mabiktima," the former top cop said.

"Just imagine, 'yung anak mo na nagseserbisyo bigla na lang mawala. Regardless kung may nagawa man siyang kasalanan, dapat iharap natin... Kung sino talagang kumuha sa kanya (Fesway) ay marami pang anggulo na binubusisi natin kung sino talaga, but still, I am encouraging you to please do your best para mabigyan ng hustisya itong pagkawala ni Agent Merton Fesway," Dela Rosa added.
