OPENING STATEMENT

Magandang umaga muli sa ating lahat.

Both bills under our consideration today seek to update and strengthen the regulation of Private Security Services Industry in the country.

Last hearing, we did not receive any opposition on the House Bill but only proposal to make the legislative measure responsive to the needs of the industry and the community in general. However, we are still lacking on how we can promote the welfare of private security personnel and/or professionals in the bill.

I am hoping with your cooperation, we can further develop the two bills.

At this point, I would like to request everyone to submit their written position paper to the Committee Secretariat on both House bill and Senate bill, on or before 27 September 2021.

Medyo very tight 'yung ating schedule pero ito ay ihinahabol natin para sana maka-sponsor ako ng committee report before the session break which is on the 28th of this month, September. Sana on the 27th, makumpleto na lahat ang inyong mga position paper, 'yung hindi pa nakapagbigay. Para on the following day, the last day of our session, 28th of September, I have already delivered to the plenary our committee report.

We intend to sponsor the Committee Report for this bill as I have said at the Senate plenary before our session break on September 29, 2021.

For the information of the body, we have to adjourn before 10:45 since we also have a scheduled committee hearing on Marawi City Rehabilitation at 9:45 pala mag-adjourn na tayo 9:45 para makapag-prepare rin kami sa rehabilitation ng Marawi Committee meeting at exactly 10am and we'll resolve another bicam committee conference in the other conference room for another measure so medyo loaded tayo ngayon, kaya may we know if any of the resource person would like to share their opinion/expertise on the private security services industry? Lalong lalo na yung hindi nakapag salita during the last committee hearing? Meron bang gustong magsalita diyan? Yung hindi nakapag salita during the last committee hearing? You may raise your hand yung gustong magsalita. Otherwise, we will just get your views via your position paper that you are going to submit to us para ma-consolidate namin for the committee report.
