Celestino Rodriguez
Senator Rodriguez was born in Bogo, Cebu on May 11, 1872 to Jose Rodriguez and Vicenta La Sala.
He finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1892 at Ateneo de Manila and Bachelor of Laws degree in 1900 from the La Universidad Central de Madrid. He passed the bar examinations in 1902 and then practiced his profession.
In 1904, he was elected municipal president of Cebu, Deputy to the first Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1909 and was elected Senator for two consecutive terms from 1916 to 1922 and from 1922 to 1928. Senator Rodriguez was also elected member of the first National Assembly of the Commonwealth from the first district of Cebu from 1935 to 1938.
He married Miss Ignacia La Sala with whom he had four children.
