NO-SHOW: Representatives from the executive department snubbed on Monday the public hearing of the Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development, chaired by Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, inquiring on the alleged missing funds intended for the repatriation of Filipinos from strife-torn Lebanon. Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita wrote the Senate saying no government official would be able to attend as the committees letter invitation does not contain the questions relative to the subject of the inquiry. Photo shows (from left) Senators Alfredo Lim, Franklin Drilon, Estrada, Joker Arroyo and Richard Gordon hearing the testimonies of representatives from various non-government organizations (NGOs) for migrant workers.
