DRILON ADDRESSES ASIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS: Liberal Party President Sen. Franklin M. Drilon welcomes participants to the Asian Parliamentarians' Consultation on the Universality of the International Criminal Court (ICC) held in the Senate Tuesday morning (August 15). Drilon said "the ICC is very significant in the promotion of human rights and international justice since this is a permanent tribunal that will try individuals accused of crimes." The two-day event is designed to promote regional cooperation and a common plan among Asian policymakers towards the ratification and implementation of the Rome Statute.
