NPC COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN: Senator Loren Legarda discussed with National People's Congress (NPC) Education, Science, Culture & Public Health Special Committee Chairman Bai Keming about possible Philippine-China cooperation on climate change, cultural heritage preservation, environment, education, technology and medical services at a meeting in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. As United Nations International Strategy on Disaster Risk Reduction regional champion, Senator Loren Legarda also congratulated China for its efforts to mainstream and institutionalize disaster prevention measures. Senator Loren Legarda urged the Philippines and China to jointly promote environmental awareness and anti-pollution reforms throughout the Asia Pacific region.
