BAGUMBAYAN LAUNCHED AT THE HISTORIC MANILA HOTEL: Independent Senator Richard J. Gordon leads the Grand Launching and National Convention of the Bagumbayan Movement – Volunteers for a New Philippines at the historic Manila Hotel which coincides with the national commemoration of the 488th anniversary of the Battle of Mactan led by the first Filipino hero, Lapu-Lapu. In his keynote address, Gordon calls on the Filpinos to seize the momentum of change that is sweeping the country, especially as the Filipino electorate prepare to choose the country’s next president in the coming May 2010 elections.
