PRESTIGIOUS IPU POST: Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Q. Pimentel, Jr. has been elected chairman of the Committee on the Human Rights of Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union during a recent meeting at the IPU headquarters in Geneva. The committee handles cases of violations of human rights of members of legislatures of member-countries. Pimentel succeeded Sen. Sharon Carstairs of Canada as committee chairman. Elected vice president of the committee was Sen. Rosario Green of Mexico.
