PLANT TREES! LOREN TO LIGA NG BARANGAY: Senator Loren Legarda speaks before the Liga ng Barangay’s 3rd National Convention at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. In her speech, Legarda informed the representatives of the 41,900 barangays all over the country led by National President Janvier Echiverri that one of her first ten bills filed during the 15th Congress is Senate Bill No. 6 the Barangays Greening and Forest Land Rehabilitation Act, which recognizes the important role of our local governments, especially the barangays as the primary initiators in the formulation and implimentations of climate change action. Loren also told them that she also filed a bill proposing barangay officials be considered as a regular government employee entitled to benefits.
