COASTLINE CLEANUP: SEN. Cynthia A. Villar leads over 300 volunteers, including students from Las Piñas and Parañaque schools, in cleaning of the coastline of Manila Bay at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Criticial Habitat and Eco-Tourism Area (LPPCHEA), the last remaining beach and mangrove area in Metro Manila in observation of the World Environment Day and Philippine Arbor Day. She also leads the planting of Bani, a medical tree. The Senator, a known environment advocate, has been fighting the reclamation of LPPCHEA which she warned may cause massive floodings in Las Piñas and Parañaque and the nearby Bacoor City in Cavite.
