NEW ZAPOTE BATTLEFIELD MARKER UNVEILED: Senator Cynthia A. Villar, Rep. Mark Villar and National Historical Commission chairman Ludovico Badoy lead the formal unveiling of the New Zapote Battlefield Marker in Las Pinas City. The unveiling was made to commemorate the 118th Anniversary of the 1897 Battle of Zapote Bridge in which Filipino Revolutionary Forces led by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo and Edilberto Evangelista fought a battle with 3,000 American soldiers. The senator says reminding the people of our historical past will keep the flame of nationalism alive.
