BAMBOO INDUSTRY: Sen. Gringo Honasan and Sen. Bam Aquino, chair of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, question officials from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) about their plans to align the Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Roadmap with the trade and environmental plans of the government during a hearing on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. "The local market demand for bamboo products is estimated at P11 billion ($245 million) while the current global market demand is $7 billion and it is expected to increase to $15 to $20 billion in 2017.
