DISCUSSING THE FAIR COMPETITION ACT OF 2014: Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV (standing), chairman of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship on Thursday, June 4, 2015, presides over the continuation of the bicameral conference committee on the disagreeing provisions between the Senate and House versions of the Fair Competition Act of 2014. The two bills seek to create a Philippine Competition Commission that will spearhead the policing of unfair trade practices such as price fixing, and is a priority reform sought by local and foreign business groups, forming part of the legislative agenda of the Aquino administration.
