SENATOR LEGARDA AT DA BUDGET HEARING: Senator Loren Legarda, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, attends the Department of Agriculture (DA) budget hearing chaired by Sen. Cynthia Villar. Legarda said the DA should be prepared for the adverse impacts of El Niño, which is expected to strengthen in the next six months. “We need to be prepared as the 2015 Global Climate Risk Index ranked the Philippines as topmost among countries affected by weather-related disasters,” said Legarda.
