NIA officials asked to explain dam operation: Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel "Migz" F. Zubiri during the hybrid plenary deliberation on the proposed 2021 national budget Wednesday, November 18, 2020, asks that officials of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) be called before the Senate anew to answer questions on protocols on water discharges from Angat and Magat dams. Finance Committee chairperson Sen. Sonny Angara said NIA’s proposed budget was already deemed submitted but he said NIA will be called again to answer questions raised by his colleagues. Angara also provided Zubiri a list of dams in the Philippines operated by NIA, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System and the National Power Corporation. Zubiri, chairman of the Committee on Rules, also committed the immediate referral of Senate Resolution No. 573 authored by Sen.
