How are agri products still smuggled into PH?: Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 expresses his dissatisfaction over the continued smuggling of agricultural products into the country despite existing laws and regulations. During the Committee of the Whole's inquiry, Lacson rejected the admission of Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero that they have "no control over" some "factors" in the unabated smuggling of vegetables and agricultural products into the Philippines. "The laws are sufficient, interagency cooperation is sufficient, regulations are sufficient, and yet, the complaints remain. Smuggling persists," Lacson said.
