Zubiri is new Senate President: Sen. Juan Miguel "Migz" F. Zubiri takes his oath as the 24th Senate President of the Republic of the Philippines, after gaining the support of majority members of the 19th Congress. In his speech, the newly-elected Senate President vowed to lead by concensus, taking cue from his predecessor, Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III. "I may wield the gavel, but not the power of this institution. That power is shared by all of us, by everyone of you and more so, as our main responsibility is responding to the needs of the people and respecting their will," Zubiri said. (Senate PRIB)
