Zubiri honors his "idol" FVR: Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" F. Zubiri, in his message at the wake of the late President Fidel V. Ramos, Saturday, August 6, 2022, said the nation has lost "one of the best Presidents we've ever had." Zubiri also said in a media presser at FVR's wake that the former President's legacies to break up monopolies in the communications, airlines and energy sectors; peace efforts in Mindanao; international partnerships for infrastructure; and consensus building style of leadership, make him an "inspirational leader that led by example." Asked of his favorite memory of Ramos, the Senate President fondly recalled his two-hour meeting with the former President when Zubiri was a young lawmaker during the 11th Congress, in which he said, “I am, partly what I am now, because of President Fidel V.
