'Beacons of hope' during a dark time: Sen. Win Gatchalian sponsors on Monday, August 8, 2022, Senate Resolution No. 77, which commends the 10 awardees of 2021 The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) of the Philippines. Gatchalian, a 2011 TOYM awardee himself, said he believes receiving such a national recognition amidst the continuing COVID-19 pandemic "carries a deeper meaning and significance." "For many of us, the pandemic was the darkest time we faced in our lifetime. At the same time, it brought out the best of what our fellow Filipinos could be. The 2021 TOYM awardees were among those who shined the brightest to serve as beacons of hope to our country," he said.
