On Senators’ ‘momentous’ visit to France: Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, during the resumption of the plenary session Monday, November 7, 2022, says it was a “momentous” moment when members of the Philippine Senate were acknowledged in the plenary hall of the French Sénat last October 25. Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" F. Zubiri and Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda led an 8-senator delegation to an official visit to the French Parliament upon the invitation of the French Sénat from October 24 to 27, 2022. Other delegation members included Villanueva, Deputy Majority Leader Joseph Victor Ejercito, Senators Manuel Lapid, Maria Lourdes Nancy Binay, Grace Poe and Christopher Lawrence Go. “Let me put on record that... on that very moment, when we were acknowledged in the Sénat plenary hall, when our Senate President Migz Zubiri together with members of the Philippine Senate were acknowledged, it was momentous and something that I will never forget for the rest of my life,” Villanueva said. “And I’m just so proud that we did that trip and I know that the fruits of our labor will never be in vain,” he added.
