Imee-led panel tackles treaty vs workplace harassment: The Committee on Foreign Relations discusses the International Labor Organization Convention No. 190 or the Convention Concerning the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work (ILO C190) during a public hearing on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Sen. Imee Marcos, chairperson of the committee, said the convention recognizes the right of people, regardless of gender, employment status and sector, to work free from violence and harassment. During the hearing, Marcos asked government agencies and stakeholders for recommendations to strengthen measures against workplace harassment in the country. The Foreign Relations panel chair then ordered the creation of a technical working group to further study the provisions of the ILO C190 and its implementation once the Senate concurs in its ratification.
