On bonds forged during APPF31: Sen. Pia Cayetano cites the importance of the partnerships formed between parliaments during the recently-concluded 31st Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF31). Lauding the success of the three-day conference during Tuesday's plenary session, November 28, 2023, Cayetano said events such as the APPF31 "may make or break" future crises that the country would face. "These events gave us the opportunity to really cultivate the relationships...So to have these good relationships, Mr. President, this is immeasurable," said Cayetano, who chaired the APPF31 Meeting of Women Parliamentarians. "Despite all your good arguments, despite all the universal laws, all the general principles of laws on your side, you can walk away with nothing. On the other hand, you can walk away with compromises, deals, programs that will benefit our people simply because we forged friendships during this APPF31 and the past one, and in the future," she added.
