Keeping up with globalization: Sen. Robinhood Padilla stresses the need for the Philippines to keep up with globalization by looking into the restrictions in the Constitution that hamper the country's growth. As the subpanel of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision Codes started the review of the 1987 Constitution's economic provisions Monday, February 5, 2024, Padilla reiterated his position that the Philippines needs to update its regulations on foreign investments and take advantage of the opportunity to create more jobs for Filipinos. The constitutional amendments committee chairperson welcomed the Senate's move to review the Constitution's restrictions on foreign ownerships. "This move, I believe, will truly help in our development and free our country from the shackles of debt," Padilla said in Filipino. (Senate Social Media Unit)
