First hearing on Resolution of Both Houses # 6: The Senate Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments and Revisions of Codes, led by Senator Sonny Angara, holds its first hearing on Resolution of Both Houses No. 6 that seeks to amend select economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution. Legal luminaries, including some of the framers of the Constitution were on hand to share their views on the proposed amendments and the modes of amending the Charter. In his opening remarks, Sen. Angara clarified that amending the Constitution will not guarantee that the country’s economic woes will be solved. Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, Majority Leader Joel Villanueva and Sen. Angara emphasized that the proposal will be tackled exhaustively and that there is no deadline being followed to complete the proceedings.
