KIKO PANGILINAN ASKS PNP CHIEF TO INVESTIGATE SELLING
Independent Senator Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan expressed his dismay over reports that rice to be distributed to impoverished parts of Mindanao is being sold to rice traders. "Our people in Mindanao reports that the rice were stolen from the World Food Programme's warehouse. The AFP was able to intercept them," says Pangilinan. Pangilinan distributed rice in Mindanao last month, allocating 5 million pesos from his Priority Development Assistance Fund in partnering with the United Nations' World Food Programme to help alleviate hunger in some parts in the region. "We urge the PNP to get to the bottom of this and punish those accountable." |
