NEDA HEARING: Sen. Mar Roxas, chairman of the Senate committees on trade and commerce and on economic affairs, stresses a point to NEDA Director General and Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Romulo Neri during yesterdays NEDA presentation of the 2nd Quarter National Income Accounts before the joint Senate-House committees on economic affairs. While Roxas welcomed during the briefing the countrys economic performance, he noted it was still consumption that drives the economy and it was OFW money that feeds the consumption. There are still very few business start-ups and new projects being undertaken. This should be the real kick, the real boost that we need, he observed. House committee on economic affairs chairman Exequel Javier and Bataan Rep. Antonio Roman listen.
