Hearing on various trade-related bills: Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, chairman of the Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, presides over a virtual hearing on various trade-related bills Tuesday, February 23, 2021. The committee tackled Senate Bill Nos. 756 (Enhanced Consumer Act), 1293 (Amendments to the Consumer Act of the Philippines), 1758 (Amendments to the Electronic Commerce Act), 520 (Anti-Pyramiding Act), 659 (Used Car Lemon Act), 1376 (Senior Citizens’ Fraud Education Act), and 1677 (Food and Grocery Delivery Services Protection Act). Pimentel said the public is welcome to submit position papers and other comments on any or all the bills pending before his committee. Atty. Vic Dimagiba, president of Laban Konsyumer Inc., expressed his support for the Enhanced Consumer Act, saying it is about time to revisit the law "having been enacted more than 20 years ago and cope with changes in behavioral activities of traders and businessmen.” (Screen grab/ Senate PRIB)
